There was more for me out there.

I grew up in Las Vegas and spent my twenties in a rock band. At 24 my first son arrived. At 25 I moved to Denver, took an HR job because a baby needs a steady one, and set the making down. I stayed in that field for more than twenty years.

At 35 my third child came, my first daughter, and that was the year I noticed. Nothing had gone wrong. The life had stopped fitting, and a life can do that quietly.

So I started learning with my hands again. Sewing. Perfume, cosmetics, oils. Trips close to home. I finished a bachelor's degree and then a master's. And here's the part most founder pages skip: the career did not move. Not that year, not for ten more. I was still stuck in my career, and I said so more than once.

At 37 we moved to a small city not far from Denver, and I spent ten years there. I hated it. It was not me. My fourth child came at 40. The world shut down and opened back up. Same job through all of it, not valued, not happy, still making things by hand.

In 2025, at 46, we took up the courage, packed the four kids, and jumped over the fear. Arizona. Back to the desert, after twenty-two years of cold.

The obvious company for a twenty-year HR person is a career company. I built it. It was called Clarity Tree, and I took it down myself. It helped with the part I knew best. It did not reach the part that actually moves. A career is one part of a life among five: the money, who you are, the shape of your days, who's at the table, where you live. Mine moved in that order, slowly, and the career moved last. So at 47 I'm leaving the field, and destiu is what I built in its place. It is me.

Your stuck part may be a different one. The money and not the work. The town and not the table. The order changes; the noticing doesn't. Nothing has to go wrong for a life to stop fitting. If you can feel yours moving, the Compass will name the part that's doing it.
